"Poor communication & appointment cancellation"

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

(as a service user),

Consultant accused me of not attending a hospital appointment but I had never received an appointment letter. They used it as an excuse to throw me off their list. The hospital was unable to produce the appointment letter when challenged and admitted none had been sent. Consultant continued with accusations against me via nasty letters despite the hospital's admission. Was able to get appointment reinstated via GP. However, hospital then cancelled that appointment!

When I called up on the day of the appointment to demand answers, they told me the appointment was actually not cancelled and they expected me to drop everything and attend (despite written notification from them of cancellation). They have failed to answer any of my specific questions about the saga and also failed to tell me how to arrange patient transport because I cannot get there otherwise. The disdain with which I have been treated is deeply distressing. The consultant even suggested I should go elsewhere. Why, because I complained? I am entitled to complain about service failures and I am entitled to continued care.
