I want to thank everyone involved in saving my life just before Christmas, especially at a time when the hospital and A&E was under such strain. I was admitted to A&E 6weeks pregnant with severe abdominal pains and bleeding. I want to thank the amazing gynecologist who promptly diagnosed me correctly as having an ectopic pregnancy and internal bleeding, and performed the emergency laparoscopy. Being in so much pain, not being very coherent with my symptoms at the time and having several other chronic health conditions, I must have been a difficult patient to diagnose and treat, I am so grateful the doctor could see past all these hurdles and knew exactly what was wrong and the urgency of the situation. This was an incredibly terrifying, heart wrenching and emotionally distressing situation and I want to thank all the staff who treated me, everybody was so kind, reassuring, respectful and empathetic. The person who wheeled me from A&E to Eden and the nurse I woke up to post op I can only describe as being like guardian angels. The anaesthetists who attended to me were so thorough especially in regards to pre-existing conditions, right down to even the minor details such as plaster allergies. You all made me feel safe in your hands, there was no time to loose and everyone was spot on, highly functional, highly motivated, working at speedy methodical pace, and all I witnessed was effective intelligent team work, I can’t express how grateful I am to everyone saving my life that day, you are all heroic working under such pressures, we are so lucky to have such outstanding and truly inspirational people working in our NHS.
"Thank you for saving my life"
