My son recently attended the children's eye outpatient department.
It was very busy, however the experience could not have been better for myself or my child.
Firstly, we were seen on time.
The staff were great, they were helpful and polite, taking the time to full explain to my 8 year old son what was happening and why.
The consultant we saw took the time to speak to my son, speak to me and not once did I feel 'rushed' or that my concerns were not valid.
At a time when the NHS is under extreme pressure and under resourced, this experience restored my faith in the NHS and my recognition for the hard work the staff do, often in very difficult situations with huge pressure.
