I had the misfortune to break my leg (femur) on 29th December 2017.
The ambulance crew who attended at my home near Pickering were both professional and attentive to my needs in extremely difficult conditions due to the overnight snowfall.
Staff at Scarborough A & E were waiting for me on arrival and could not have been kinder or more professional.
I was quickly x-rayed and medicated and after a short wait taken to a bed in the Orthopaedic (Holly) ward.
The nursing staff were without doubt quite magnificent being both cheerful, professional and competent and could not have done more to attempt to make my stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
I cannot thank them enough.
My consultant always had time to talk and discuss treatment and was very reassuring both before and after operating.
The after care from the Physiotherapists was also good.
No one enjoys having to be in hospital but Scarborough Hospital should be very proud of their staff from the cleaners to the consultants, not forgetting the kitchen who produced excellent hot food every single meal.
Scarborough Hospital gets 11/10 from me.
THANK YOU,
Andrew Watkinson
