Went to the A&E after a bike accident. Was sent home after an X-ray of my wrist, which I found out 4 weeks later was indeed broken.
The specialists I have seen afterwards said the error of the hospital was to not refer me to do another X-Ray after 2 weeks, as apparently it is very common not to see the fracture of a scaphoid bone straight after a fall but the risk is high after such injury.
I was really nervous to be manipulated by the doctor and told him to manipulate me gently. He decided even not to bother looking at my wrist and simply sent me to do an X-ray with a condescending attitude, without following up even further.
I now just had surgery as the break was so bad and the risk of the bone not healing high (as I continued using my wrist thinking it was a simple sprain).
Had I only been warned of the risk of a fracture, could I maybe have avoided a surgery.
Overall very disappointing.
