"The care of my mother in A&E"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My mum was admitted to the A&E at the QEUH due to shortness of breath and a racing heart. We only waited 10 minutes before my mum was looked at and subsequently taken to majors, the staff were all fantastic. The nurses, auxiliaries, doctor, domestic, receptionist and everyone else involved in my mums stay helped calm her down and get her back on her feet with a professional and friendly attitude. One negative would be that after discharge and walking through the main entrance of the hospital, the large number of smoker stood around the doors was worrying due to her earlier breathlessness.

We were out of the door again a few hours later and my mum is now at home recovering well. She just wants me to say all staff were fantastic, the place was spotless and everyone went out of their way to help her.

Dear Cambus

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

I am pleased to read that the staff were all fantastic and went out of their way to help your Mum.

I will make sure we share your post with the staff in A&E who will be delighted with your feedback.

I will also share your feedback about smoking outside the main entrance with my colleagues in Facilities.

Please pass on my best wishes to your Mum.

Kind Regards

Nicole
