"Overall a very good exerience"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Accident and emergency

My 90 year old sister had a fall at her home and having pressed her alarm button very soon had an ambulance arrive. The ambulance attendants were kindness personified. Arrival at A&E was very smooth and the staff very caring and reassuring to both my sister who was very stressed and myself who was only slightly less so!! Checks on BP ECG etc were rapidly carried out and then the leg dressed as she had carved a substantial skin flap off when she fell. They monitored her closely for some time before transferring her to Creaton Ward where despite being incredibly busy the staff settled her in quickly and I was able to depart. Things got a little shaky the next day as they were intending to check her mobility but that didn't get done until she as moved to Holcot the following day. Another move to the Re Hab ward got the Physios involved and she is now mobilising very well. All the staff are so kind and caring despite the enormous pressures.I would complimentthe Hospital as well on the high standard of their catering. Each meal that Barb received was both delicious and nutritious. Well done - but please get the parking sorted.45 minutes to find a space and a £70 parking fine when in despair I abandoned my car was not good news.
