About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I had four months of one to one therapy sessions which were painful and I found it hard at first to lay bare my innermost feelings. My therapist was excellent in gently coaching me to see things in different way and this has given me a platform to look at my life differently, having lived it thus far dogged by self doubt and loathing. 

He has given me the tools to look at situations/people in different ways and not take the blame for things that are not my fault. To also accept that, having always felt that I was wired differently, to relish that I am, and acknowledge the gifts and traits that I have and embrace them. I cannot praise my therapist and this service highly enough and how invaluable it is.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us your story here.

You mention that you have been learning to be more compassionate with yourself ( and the world ). That's such an important and powerful shift isn't it?

Have you ever come across the word - Kintsugi -?

Its a Japanese word for the art of repairing broken porcelain with gold.

Repairing broken porcelain with gold and celebrating the broken bits not as flaws but as unique characteristics to be prized and celebrated and shown with pride.

How we can recognize and celebrate our uniqueness seems to be very much part of your experience..... I love that.
