What I liked
I came to Newmarket Hospital after major surgery at Papworth Hospital for 2 weeks' convalescence. I had a private room with en-suite facilties and a TV, and was able to get the rest that I needed. All the staff were kind, courteous, and treated me very well. They also appreciated my sense of humour! I was keen to build up my independence ready for my return home, and the staff respected this, but I know they would have been happy to give me any help that I needed.
Catering was on-site, and the lunches in particular were of excellent quality.
The preparations for my discharge home were very well handled.
I was aware that other patients had greater needs than me, and from what little I could see or hear, I felt that the staff dealt most professionally with them.
If people are offtered Newmarket Hospital as a place to convalesce, I would strongly urge them to take the offer up
What could be improved
Nothing that I can think of immediately.
Anything else?
As above.
"A restful and supportive envirornment..."
