"disability and atitudes."

About: Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

Dear Leeds NHS

Disability or vulnerability comes in various forms, from visible to not so visible, & can affect people in various ways.

Whilst I have myself have seen and heard unnecessary discrimination occasionally because people are judgmental or simply misinformed, such attitudes should never be apparent when visiting the NHS, sadly this was apparent on a couple of occasions that I attended Leeds hospitals. I happened to feel uneasy in the hospital environment, this in turn appeared to make at least some NHS employees who should now better, speak to me and treat me like a

I was stupid.

( why ). Yet other staff could not be more nice.

I am not sure i always like the way the more vulnerable members of society are spoken to at least from what I have seen.

What really struck me one day was over hearing a HCA let out a really disappointed sigh whilst explaining to a senior HCA that their patient had some sort of disability ! Your one of the biggest NHS trusts, and do great work, but please their need to be far greater education because those sort of attitudes have no place at your Trust,
