I had my first baby at Huddersfield family birth centre in 2011, it was such a positive experience that I wanted to have my second child at the birth centre too.
The birth centre is so calm and tranquil and immediately you feel at ease.
Both births went smoothly with minimal intervention from the midwives. Both times the midwives supported me but let me get on with the birth. I never felt like they were interfering at all. My second baby arrived within 18 minutes of me getting to the centre and my midwife Jo just gave me words of encouragement when I needed them and made sure I had everything I needed and felt comfortable.
If you want a calm birth without intervention and have a low risk pregnancy I would really recommend you have a look around the birth centre.
