"Pitlochry Medical Services"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

Having had to make use of not only our local Athol Medical Practice but also our paramedics whose emergency vehicle/s are based at the Pitlochry Community Hospital, I cannot praise highly enough the staff concerned. At a time of year when the NHS is even busier than usual, the highly committed professionals we dealt with were wonderful. They were calm, supportive, willing to listen and, when necessary, provided the care and treatment required. We are so lucky to have an ambulance and dedicated crew members based in Pitlochry and this is a service which we must hold onto.

Considering the bad media press which our NHS receives on an almost daily basis, it is time that some members of the general public realised how lucky we are to have such a service. One has only to look at Europe, let alone further afield, to grasp the consequences of such a loss. There is no doubt that there are management and resource issues within the NHS as a whole but it is time that those working 'at ground level' were given the praise they deserve.

Hi tigersf63,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback your positive experiences and for the kind comments regarding our staff.

You are right that this is a very challenging time of year for the Scottish Ambulance Service - and the NHS more generally. Our staff are putting in a huge amount of effort each day caring for patients and it is great to hear that this is appreciated by patients such as yourself.

They will be really pleased to read your kind comments and the praise you've given them.

Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch,

It is much appreciated.

All the very best,

Mark

Hi Tigersf63,

I would just like to mirror what my Mark has said in his comment, thanking you for taking the time out of your day to write a lovely comment like this.

As someone who has worked on the road it was always nice to receive compliments like this. It would be great to make sure that your kind words are handed over to the staff that you dealt with. If you want, you can email me at scotamb.corporateaffairs@nhs.net or alternatively give us a call on 0131 314 400 (option 4) and we will be happy to take your call. (This line may be busy but if you leave a message asking for me I will call you back.)

I thank you again for your compliment.

Kind Regards

Alan Martin
