I have only just come across this site, so apologies to all for late review.
I attended ward 7 of James Cook, I was told for the removal of cyst from kidney.
I was very nervous, it's a long time since I was in hospital.
The staff in ward 7 put me at ease, and treated me like a King, 3 wonderful meals every day, tv available, books, newspapers, and they ' fed me' the medication 3 times a day, religously.
On the 6th day the surgeon, who had operated on me, told me, I had cancer .
But the cancer had been removed, and they had been able to take care of everything.
I cannot speak too highly of the surgeon and his co-workers, who did a wonderful job for 4 and a half hours, in the operation.
It was stage one kidney cancer.
I did not get a chance to say thank you afterwards, and was in highly emotional state, but would like to say thanks to the surgeon, the nurse, and all the team in Ward 7 - a top class job, from avery grateful patient. I do not understand why the NHS comes in for stick from so many people - this is a wonderful service and residents of the UK can be extremely grateful, and I am so grateful to all of you for giving me a 2nd chance !
