"Quinsy Drainage"

About: Derriford Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was sent to Derriford on a Saturday morning with an extremely sore throat, they straight way gave me 3 different antibiotics and strong pain killers via a drip. All the staff were concerned about my pain because I was in clear agony. They were all very friendly and reassuring. The throat doctor had to drain my abscess in my throat but he was okay to wait till I was ready to have the treatment and was very cooperative with me. he throat doctor I saw was amazing. The nurse practitioner giving me my vast amount of drugs was funny and supportive however I forgot his name. I left derriford feeling 1 million times less better and with a smile on my face.

The Matron Emergency Department has responded to say:

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such lovely comments about the staff and I shall ensure that your kind words are shared with them.

The staff work very hard extremely hard to provide the best care they can and I am very proud to be the matron for such a lovely ward and to receive your compliment only reinforces this.
