I was admitted into Treliske Hospital on the 21st of December 2017. I was having a diagnostic laparoscopy. It was in actual fact on my birthday which was pretty much the only downer of my day. However, soon arrival at 7am, my parents and myself and mother in law were all greeted warmly and were shown into the waiting room. The room was very warm and clean. After around an hour passed I was called by a nurse. the nurse had prepared me for my surgery and then I was taken back to the waiting room. After that, I was called again by the nurse a few hours later and was told they are ready for me in theatre. With my nerves all over the place, the nurse was very reassuring and didn't leave my side until I had gone into theatre. This nurse is a real credit to the team on Eden Ward. I can not fault the care that I received from her. Also, the two members of staff that were getting me ready with the anaesthetic were also very lovely as well. After the surgery,I came round ok and was shortly taken back to the Eden Ward. I had then seen the nurse again and that's when she had offered me some water due to be NBM and being extremely thirsty. I was then offered something to eat and the staff that prepare the food had taken my dietary needs into consideration due to being dairy intolerant. I would just like to say a huge thank you to this nurse from the Eden Ward. I can not thank her enough for everything that she had done for me that day. She is a real credit to the Eden Ward.
