"Day case surgery"

I attended today at day case unit fie breast surgery. Initially worried as my letter asked me to attend at 12 but team had expected me at 7am.... however, team were understanding and surgery went ahead. Team all introduced themselves and their roles and safety checks carried out very thoroughly. All went smoothly and staff addressed all my concerns. They didn't use cannula when I said it hurt on flushing and removed it asap. Decisions on pain management were made with my opinion taken into account. Medication supply was smooth and efficient. Surgeon came to see me after operation to explain what had happened. All staff were happy, kind and a credit to their profession and the organisation. My husband visited the toilets on the way home and commented they were spotless. Well done kgh at a very difficult and busy time. Fantastic experience.
