About: Montague Medical Practice

Having been a patient for many years, I have noticed the decline in services and appointments. I've been on your website and having read the reviews, I felt compelled to have my say.

Your responses to some of the rants have amazed me.

You state that you now have only 3 GP's, reduced from 6!

Then why are you taking on more new patients when you state you have 9720 on your books already.

Don't you think you are adding to the persistent problem of appointments?

I myself have insisted or told that I need to see a GP and have had to wait a week for an appointment!

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your experience. We are sorry the practice has not met your needs on this occasion. As you state our GP numbers have declined in recent years. We have however employed Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to work alongside the GPs. The ANPs are highly qualified and experienced nurses who are prescribers and are able to see and treat a wide range of patients. Our patient list has reduced over the past 6 months. We feel we are unable to close the practice list to new patients as this would only put additional pressure on the other practice in the town. We have changed our appointment system recently so hopefully you will find it easier to access our services.

The practice manager is always happy to speak to patients directly about any concerns so please feel free to call into the surgery at your convenience to do this.
