I really regret having ever taken any drugs. I did it because my partner was taking them and being around him as often as I was, it was hard to stay off them. I was only 14years old and you know what you're like when you're 14, impressionable and stupid.
My partner is in jail, and he's clean. It's my turn now!
My aim is to be clean by Christmas. I'm sorting out training to do volunteering with kids. I was only a kid when I started on the gear, I want to help other kids not get tempted into it.
I'm on 45mls at the moment, I'll be on 40mls next week so I'm not far off. I really think it won't be long now. I went through a rehab that got me clean for 23months, but then my partner got me back into it.
My key worker comes to my flat to see me. They're helping me get rehoused now so I can start all over again. I'm going to move area so that I can look after my parents who are both in their late 70's. I've given them a lot of trouble and worry. I feel like I owe it to them now to get myself clean and go and help them.
The staff I see at Guernsey are sound, they're all wicked, they've pushed me, but in a good way. They're not pushy, but they encourage you which is what I need.
I try not to be around people that are still using now. It doesn't help, it makes life difficult. I think that's why the move will be good for me. Once I'm clean I can make a clean break for it!
"Getting off the gear!"
