"Rude Receptionist"

About: St Albans City Hospital

I was very disappointed when I arrived at the unit as all I received was rude and dismissive behaviour from the receptionist. I was there for treatment of a UTI which counts as a minor injury and they must see me and treat me for it as is stated in clinical protocol and I have been seen a other minor injury units before for this problem. She told me I was wrong and laughed saying she’d never heard of it and that they only deal with cuts and bruises. Despite my trying to explain she wouldn’t listen and said she can book me in as she cannot tell me not to see a nurse but that they would just tell me the same thing. I chose to leave at this point as I was very upset with how I was treated and she had used such a loud indiscreet voice that the entire waiting room had heard the conversation. Considering I was there for a valid reason and was ill I was extremely upset with this outcome. I have been before with my partner when he was ill and we got the exact same response. Considering that in a hospital you are dealing with people who are not well and need help I thought her bedside manner was atrocious.
