"Sharing Safeguarding Concerns"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Older people's healthcare

I have attempted to share safeguarding concerns regarding my, almost 87 year old, neighbour. She is currently residing at pinderfields ward 42, with a broken hip, after a fall. I have called the hospital several times, on different numbers for several days running after requesting an appointment with the ward sister when I was visiting my neighbour. I was given a card with the ward numbers on (which I explained I already had) and told to call to speak with her. How am I to do this when no one answers the phone? I explained how important the time scale was as I actually go on holiday tomorrow! I have also looked for an email to send my safeguarding concerns to but was brought to this page!! My neighbour has no family, is an only child and never married. I am very concerned about my neighbour and have nowhere to share these concerns despite my repeated attempts.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on NHS Choices.

I am concerned to read that you have some safeguarding issues regarding your neighbor and that you are not able to escalate these to anyone.

Would you be happy to email them through to our PALS team who can then direct them to the right team/member of staff for appropriate action?

If so, their email address is pals@midyorks.nhs.uk or you could call them on 01924 542972.

Thank you again.

Kind regards
