"Delay in results due to secretaries taking..."

I had a breath test 7th December was told to phone consultants secretary 21st December if I had not heard from the hospital by then. I phoned to be told secretary broke up 20th December she would be bk 27th or 28th December they was not sure what day. I phoned bk 28th was told she is still off until 2nd January 2p18 I phoned on this day to be told she will not be in until 3rd January I phoned again on 3rd January to be told she is in however she is not taking call as she has a backlog of work to catch up on.

Why do consultants have secretaries who have this amount of time off and no cover. I am making a formal complaint as I think this is unacceptable and may I add I have still had no results or communication from the hospital
