About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Accident and emergency

My dad aged 92 was rushed from his doctors to hospital in an ambulance with a chest infection. I was called and when I arrived he was in a cubicle in the Accident unit. Everyone who dealt with him was the ultimate professional but they treated him with kindness and as an individual. They explained everything so he could understand and even made us a cup of tea. He was then moved to the Acute Medical Unit to stay overnight and the quality of care he had received in the Accident Dept continued. He is home now and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care he was given. At this moment the NHS is massively overstretched & underfunded but this was the NHS at its best. Many Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your father’s recent admission to the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

It is lovely to receive such positive feedback regarding the care and treatment your father received following his admission and we are delighted to pass this on to the staff.

They will very much appreciate your comments as they always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care.

If you would like to provide us with further information about this experience then we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and using our services.

You can either contact me (Melissa Almond) on 01254 734087 or by email at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk

Thank you again for commenting and best wishes.
