My dad aged 92 was rushed from his doctors to hospital in an ambulance with a chest infection. I was called and when I arrived he was in a cubicle in the Accident unit. Everyone who dealt with him was the ultimate professional but they treated him with kindness and as an individual. They explained everything so he could understand and even made us a cup of tea. He was then moved to the Acute Medical Unit to stay overnight and the quality of care he had received in the Accident Dept continued. He is home now and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care he was given. At this moment the NHS is massively overstretched & underfunded but this was the NHS at its best. Many Thanks
