"I had tremendous care from porter to surgeon."

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency Tameside General Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I recently visited a+e with a strangulated hernia although at the time I didn’t know that it was strangulated. From the moment I went in to triage I was told we will try to see you sooner rather than later.

I waited a very very reasonable 1.5 HRs then was taken through to treatment, from that moment I was not left alone, was made to feel reassured given pain relief and looked after very well even tho the doctors had multiple patients to look after.

I was told I would need emergency surgery for the strangulation and literally 30 / 45 mins later my family was brought through to see me before I was taken to the DSEU ward. On the ward I feel I had tremendous care from porter to surgeon. Then allowed home the next day. Our NHS is stretched to max but even with this the staff at TGH go out of there way to do the best they can and that best is often above and beyond.

And it should be only right that these amazing people get praise the truly deserve. So from me THANK YOU VERY MUCH  all the people who helped me.
