I attended the urology outpatients for the first time today (10/01/2017). I was initially nervous about the appointment as I was not sure what to expect. I arrived and was greeted by the receptionist who checked my letter and requested that I take a seat in the waiting room, the receptionist was polite and helpful throughout the time I was dealt with at reception.
After a very short wait in the department I was called over by a very nice and professional member of staff who took my blood pressure and checked the urine sample I had taken with me, throughout these routine checks it was explained to me what was happening and I started to feel more at ease. After my blood pressure and urine was checked I was again asked to take a seat in the waiting room until i was called in to see the consultant.
Again after a short wait I was called through to see the consultant, i was made to feel at ease from the second I walked in the room. Everything that was going to happen was fully explained and I was treated in a very professional manner by both members of the urology team that were in the room with me. I did have some examinations during my appointment that are quite embarrassing and during the whole time I was made to feel at ease and as comfortable as I could be. The next steps of investigations into my issue was explained to me so well that when I was asked if I had any questions there was not one thing that I needed to ask.
All in all I am extremely satisfied with my visit to the urology department at new cross and would like to thank the staff I saw for their time and for the way I was dealt with.
