"Surgical assessment unit"

About: Derriford Hospital / General surgery

When GP recommended I went to Derriford today I was dreading the experience.

I know from the press how busy the hospital is and I was expecting to be waiting for hours and dealt with by tired and grumpy staff however this was certainly not the case. I was greeted with a smile from reception - waited for approximately 20 minutes to be seen by a junior Dr who took all my information professionally and listened. Within another 15 minutes I was seen by a delightful Dr to confirm and inform me again extremely professional and charming left the Ward within the hour fully briefed and an invite back if symptoms persist within 48 hours. Even managed to have a chat about skiing. Couldn’t thank them enough. What lovely staff.
