I was admitted to the hospital via A&E on 7 October with severe abdominal pain.
Everyone in A&E treated me promptly with maximum care and excellent pain relief.
I was admitted to Cherry Ward overnight and again the attention to my care was second to none.
I had an emergency ileostomy shortly after due to peritonitis and was cared for in ICU for a few days. My care was constant and performed with great compassion by all the staff.
I will never forgot the bed bath given by a kind night staff nurse.
I then progressed to various beds in Maple Ward and spent the next 6 weeks there.
I was looked after by nearly every member of staff on the ward and felt like they genuinely cared for for my progress.
This includes nurses, HCAs, cleaners, physios, dieticians and porters.
I cannot thank all the staff including my surgeons for the excellent care and for saving my life.
