"Cervical smear (with backwards pointing cervix)"

I am 49 and for the first time in my life somebody has been able to perform a cervical smear on me (today) without making me cry with pain! (This is something I have to have done in hospital as I have a backwards pointing cervix which makes it very difficult, and after years of agonising and unsuccessful attempts at GPs surgeries over the years it has been recognised that I need to have this done in a hospital). I wish I could name the consultant I saw today as he was brilliant, not only did it not hurt (at all!!) it was also the quickest one I have ever had! He made it all seem so easy I bet he was wondering why I was having this done in a hospital at all! What a star that consultant is!
