"MRI Scan Appointment"

About: NHS Bradford City CCG

(as a service user),

I was referred by my GP for an urgent MRI scan due to my losing feeling in my face, arm and leg. She told me it would take about 7 days.

10 days later I received a letter asking me to make a triage appointment at the musculoskeletal service. I telephoned the number given. The earliest appointment was two weeks away and in a town 15 miles away. I booked it. Within a week I received a letter cancelling that appointment and asking me to make one with a local pain clinic. This was a month after I saw my GP, I saw the pain specialist I see bi-annually, who told me he would arrange a scan and nerve conduction tests. They took a month for me to have. Three months later, I had not had the results and the lack of feeling has got worse, I saw my GP again who chased up the results. I will receive them in four weeks time... a full 16 weeks from having them when they were requested urgently. I am not impressed with this service at all, it is scary having numbness/lack of feeling in my face, it’s as if I am being pushed aside as trivial.
