"Knee replacement"

About: Ashford Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I had a knee replacement and was in Dickens Ward of Ashford Hospital.

Went in on 12th December 2017 and asked to be there by 7.30am for morning surgery but didn't go down for the op til about 2.30pm. Having been instructed not to eat after mid-night the night before, this seemed a very long wait; however, apart from that everything was done to make me feel comfortable and relaxed and I came through feeling much better than I expected, back in the ward late afternoon. All the staff were kind and helpful throughout the few days I was there and I didn't encounter any problems. No-one likes going into hospital but I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend Ashford Hospital to anyone facing hip or knee surgery.
