I rang to book an annual pill review when I had four weeks left of my contraceptive pill in early December. Despite this, the lady on the phone informed me that the next available appointment wasn't until January so I took the first available that was offered. However, I then received a letter through my door on Saturday 30th December, four days before my appointment, informing me my appointment time had been moved to earlier in the day. However I could not do this appointment due to work commitments hence why I had chosen the latest appointment time when I booked and so I went immediately to the practice to change the new allocated appointment but was met with three receptionists that informed me the practice was closed and they were only answering the phones for triage, I would have to wait until the practice reopens after the new year bank holiday to resolve my appointment. However, this now meant that because of the practice unorganisation, despite me booking four weeks in advance, I was now on my last few days of contraceptive pills and unable to request an emergency prescription until the new year. I could not rearrange my appointment to a time that I could actually attend as someone that works full time hours as they were closed. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I have been left in a similar situation due to this practice. Very disappointing.
