I am currently undergoing my third round of chemo at Airedale Hospital under the Oncology department and the HODU unit. Many people will have complained about the length of time we sometimes have to wait before we are sometimes seen but the nurses work extremely hard. They see everyone as quickly as they can but some people forget they have to deal with emergency cases and they also have to fit it people who have had their treatment but need to have tubes removed from Picc lines and porta cath, these are not on the list of cases to be seen.
There has never been a time when I have not seen the nurses laughing and joking with patients, which is a terrific boost when you sre facing hours of chemo. It makes it an uplifting place to be rather then one you dread to go. I for one would not want to do their job but thank goodness there are people like them in this world
"Fantastic care st HODU"
