"Getting an appointment with GP"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as a service user),

This happened to me for the second time. I call my GP surgery for appointment asking for general appointment. By the receptionist I am ask for symptoms (fair enough) then I am told the receptionist will put me onto NHS 24 call back and someone will call me the next day morning. The NHS 24 calls the next day, after going through the symptoms again with person on the phone I am advised to call my GP and make a routine appointment. I call my GP surgery asking for routine appointment where I am again questioned by the receptionist about my symptoms. I have to stop the receptionist and say it's the NHS24 that told me to make appointment. Seems a bit chaotic and pointless.

I like the doctors in my GP surgery and I am happy with their treatments but surely there is an easier way to sort out appointment.

Dear Zuzacek,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have had obtaining a GP appointment at your practice. I am happy to discuss this with you if you can contact me on Tel. 01698 858 321 alternatively you can discuss this with your Practice Manager within your GP surgery.

Kind regards
