I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff on Paediatrics A&E department at NSECH. My son was very poorly last Monday and and on arrival he was assessed very quickly by the team. Thank you to The staff Nurse, who was fantastic. The care was so fantastic. My son was transferred the next day to the RVI for 4 nights and luckily is fully recovered. Thank you so much to all the team on Paediatrics.

Dear Sonia,

I’m so sorry to hear that your son needed emergency care and treatment the week before Christmas - that must have been such a worrying time for you ? The Northumbria has been incredibly busy over the holiday period with our staff working flat out to try and provide the best care possible. I am so delighted that your wee man got everything that he needed from a kind and responsive paediatric team. Your thoughtful appreciation really does provide such a welcome boost for busy teams and tired legs ! Thank you very much for taking the time to write it.

It’s lovely to know that colleagues at the RVI continued the excellent service and returned him to you in time for Christmas Eve. What an extra special gift from Santa this year ?

I really do hope your boy is thriving now and that you’ve been able to get some rest and enjoy the celebrations over the weekend ?
