I have been coming to the Bassetlaw Carer Support Group for just over 2 years now. Before my daughter was taken ill and referral to the crisis team I didn't even know that the group existed. One of the crisis team told me about the group, and I am so pleased she did. Don't get me wrong it is not easy walking into a room with a bunch of people I did not know. But I am pleased that I did, everybody has their home problems, but when you listen to some of them it makes you realise that you are not the only one. It was such a relief off my shoulders, from the second week onward. Just by going and sharing with the group of people, who will sit and listen can make all the difference in the world. I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for the group and staff and as the weeks go by you realise that you are not on your own. No one judges you, because you hear other people's stories you soon realise that there is hope at the end of the tunnel. I am so proud to be part of the carer's group. They are truly wonderful.
"Truly wonderful group"
