"Sinus surgery"

I would like to make people aware of my situation. I underwent routine sinus surgery last year at a Wirral hospital. Once under anaesthetic the surgeon found limited access to my left sinus cavity.

Unfortunately space was so small i had a massive bleed, but the surgeom carried on working through the bleed, hence, they cut through my eye muscles and nerves, the damage was horrendous and so was the pain.

I have undergone several reconstructive operations in a Liverpool hospital, but am sadly left with permanent double vision for the rest of my life. My only option is to try and use an occlusive contact lens to black out my double vision, but this has its disadvantages, as can only be used for limited hours per day due to starving oxygen to my eye and the risk of going blind.

I have asked for patient literature to be changed, but am still waiting, as I think people should be aware of what can happen.

Yes, this is probably a twenty million to one chance of it happening to someone, but it happened to me and I now live with the pain and the frustration. I feel this is all because the surgeon didn't take a step back and from what I understand, continued regardless of the risk.
