About: Princess Anne Hospital / Gynaecology

I came in for surgery to remove an ovarian cyst and explore almost a year of terrible pelvic pain and other symptoms. I was so nervous when my husband left and the nurses put me at so much ease. When I'm nervous I'm so clumsy and ditzy, so I apologized constantly to the the nurse looking after me, but the nurse was upbeat and positive about everything. I was seen very quickly by anesthetist etc and was first in for surgery, nurses who I came around to were so lovely. I was soon back on the ward and lovely nurse brings round tea & toast, I was really sore but I took myself to the toilet and got myself dressed very soon after :) Surgeon was very vague when they came round to talk afterwards, they said I will receive a letter in 6 weeks with results from biopsy. Its been 11 weeks now and I phoned several times now - just under two weeks ago someone assured me I will be sent a results letter after I'd gone to my GP and all they could find was a pathology report which is a bunch of a gynecological-pathology-terms,which is not for them to understand or for me. I will have to put in a complaint soon, which is why I winded up on the reviews!

Thank you very much for your feedback. I am very pleased to hear your inpatient experience was positive, but also very sorry to hear the issues you have had getting your results.

I have passed your feedback to the matron for the area. If you haven't already done so, please make contact with patient support services on 02381206325 or by email at patientsupportservices@uhs.nhs.uk in order that we can help you further.
