"Poor care, no privacy and dismissive of mental..."

I had a total of 4 consultations and a colonoscopy carried out at Tees Valley. At each consultation, no eye contact was made and each appointment lasted a total of 5 minutes, the consultant did not look up from their computer screen at any time.

During my colonoscopy I had not been advised not to eat prior and was scolded by the nurse for having a glass of water and a slice of toast. I had explained I suffer from anxiety and had never been in a clinical/surgical setting before, despite this the procedure was not properly explained, the team was rough in handling me and seemed to want to rush me, the nurse kept attempting to hold my hand even though I told them this was making me anxious however I was not listened to me.

Following the procedure I was sat in a waiting room with other patients nearby and my follow up care was discussed within earshot of other patients and nurses at the desk were openly discussing patient details.
