"We lose the NHS at our peril."

About: Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

After consulting my local Health Centre in Anstruther, an appointment at the Colorectal Unit at Victoria Hospital was made for me the following day. I was rather apprehensive for a number of reasons. I arrived at the hospital and met with nurses Wendy, Sheila, and student Tammy.

I want to thank all 3 of these amazing people. They immediately put me at ease and showed a degree of skill, care and empathy which in my view exceeded their job description. After being treated for colorectal cancer 27 years ago, I already have a huge respect for the unstinting work of the NHS. We lose it at our peril.

I cannot praise the efficient nature of the service I received highly enough. Thank you to the amazing Colorectal Department at Victoria Kirkcaldy. YOU ARE AMAZING!!

Dear hydrazn63

Thank you for your post on Care Opinion.

I can appreciate why you would be apprehensive about attending the Colorectal Unit especially as you have been treated for bowel cancer in the past.

It was lovely to read that you felt that the service you received was efficient and that the skill and care given to you by Wendy, Sheila and Tammy put you at ease.

I will share your post with the staff now and I am sure that your kind words will be gratefully received.

I hope that you are doing well and that you have a good New Year.

Thanks again

Gill
