"Wonderful care during a very complicated pregnancy"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

I had a very complicated twin pregnancy.

One of my twins had a cardiac defect which it was hoped would be operable but sadly he passed away in utero at 36 weeks.

The other twin survived and both were delivered by C-section which was managed with incredible sensitivity and compassion.

I had wonderful support and care from the fetal medicine consultants as well as the midwives in the MDAU, on the delivery ward, and in the diabetes clinic, from the start of the pregnancy through to the conclusion. I felt that everyone involved in our care was genuinely personally invested in the outcome and never felt like I was a nuisance or overreacting if I had questions or concerns.

I had fabulous breastfeeding support from others on the ward after birth.

Hinchingbrooke's bereavement team were on the case and very attentive.

Overall I cannot praise the care I received enough and will always be grateful for the support that we and our twins received during a very difficult time.
