My relative was admitted into your hospital on the day before their original scheduled date for surgery, over 3 weeks ago now back in November 2017. Since then their operation has been cancelled a total of 4 times, each time on the morning of the proposed surgery date due to their being no ITU bed available. My relative's health is being put at risk and the outcome of their surgery is likely to be worse now that they have had to wait so long andf not to mention their emotional wellbeing. There is still no confirmed date for the operation and no actual plan of how you are going to rectify this appalling situation. To make matters worse, my relative has been transferred twice between Stoke & Stafford and vice versa and on both of these occasions no-one from the hospital bothered to inform the family about the transfer. Also, each of the 4 times that you have cancelled the surgery at last minute, no-one has bothered to let us know of this. I have also left messages with the Consultant's secretary on 3 occasions now and they too have not found the time to call back as requested. You have less than 5 days to rectify this appalling situation before you are in breach of the 28-day standard under the NHS Constitution.
