"Life Saver"

About: NHS Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

I moved to house recently and eventually made a routine appontment to register with the local Strathaven doctors practise. Dr Carol Campbell carried out a number of routine checks and noticed that I had a very slightly higher than than normal Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) level, which can be an early indication of Prostate Cancer. I had no physical symtoms what so ever and at 49 did not fall into the high risk catagory. Further diagnosis and tests revealed that I had cancer and the prostate was removed. I am now clear of the cancer and thanks to Carol and her diligance, I am now enjoying every day, which all seem extra special. My wife and two tennage girls are so grateful to Carol for saving my life and she will always be in our thoughts.
