I have been at the surgery for many years now. The GPs historically have been ok, though I always felt rushed and felt like I was an inconvenience at times.
More recently, there are some new GPs who have is instilled me with confidence. They have shown empathy, care and made me feel like they really care about my health and my families health. My late father always taught me that health is wealth.
These GPs are consistent and I feel very safe in their hands, please keep the passion and do not allow anything or anyone from doing what you do.
Overall, the new surgery telephone system is much better - before I had to call about 100 times to get through so well done.
Most of the times the receptionists have been good, but on occasions I have encountered hostility. To them I say this, I would strongly remind you that no one wants to call or visit their doctor's - it's only because of illness that compels them to do so. As such, they are vulnerable, upset, scared or in a great deal of pain. You are the front line and therefore represent your surgery.
You are thus duty bound to show empathy, care and most of all professionalism. Anything less, is simply unacceptable. Your role in the eyes of the community is to provide reassurance and support to those that are in need. Your position is one that is vital to the health & wellbeing of your community that you serve, and this word "service" is one that should always be at the forefront of your mind. I hope that you will take on board my friendly critique and become the best in your field.
Thank you
