"Technically weak and poor customer service"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Rheumatology

I have attended kings rheumatology for many years. Originally I found kings to be good, made adequate time for me as a patient and I was happy with the service. However during recent years the quality of the service had dropped dramatically, you don’t see consultants with the right skills when you need them for emergencies, palmed off on other departments, my consultant didn’t turn up to my appointment and was told they had left for the day (you see them in the dept on your way out). Worst of all no communication of risk when changing medications and not handled by consultants with the relevant specialism which has resulted in long term pain issues. Very poor performance.

I am sorry to hear that you feel that the service in rheumatology has deteriorated in recent years and, in particular, the issue you raise about lack of information about potential risks when changing medication. I am sure that colleagues in the team would be keen to hear more about your experience as we obviously want to ensure that we provide a really good service all of the time. If you would like me to put you in touch with one of the team to talk further please do feel free to contact me. Jessica Bush, Head of Patient Experience, Jessica.bush@nhs.net.

Apologies once again.
