"Addiction support"

About: Inclusion Cambridge

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The combination of one-to-one sessions with your key worker and available groups sessions including aural acupuncture, mindfulness and Discovery to Recover course offer practical support during the decision making process of whether to and preparation to reduce or go for abstinence.  It is the first time I have felt the psychological reasons for substance misuse/dependency were understood by staff as well as physical addiction.  Early days but this support has helped me find the momentum to make change. Now to keep with those changes! Thank you.

Hi there

Our aim is to provide a menu of options and you have listed a few. Then we plan to work with individuals to tailor their treatment. I'm pleased to hear that you are making progress and I like the word 'momentum' which you use. The hardest thing is usually to get started and then when changes start happening individuals begin to belive that lasting change can happen.

Thanks

Paul
