"Rude Receptionist"

About: Larwood Surgery

Went to see the doctor over a stomach problem which was fine and as I left they told me to make another appointment at reception.

When I got to the desk to make another appointment the receptionist was very rude and abrupt asking why I needed to make another appointment.

I told them the doctor had told me to but they were still extremely rude, patronising and condescending towards me.

All this was in front of a full waiting room which made me feel very belittled and embarrassed at the time.

I am very sorry to hear that you felt the receptionist was rude when asking you why you needed to make another appointment.

Although our receptionists do sometimes need to ascertain the reason for your appointment to ensure you are with the right person at the right time, especially if it involves diagnostic tests etc, it is never acceptable for our staff to be rude to a patient.

If you would like to contact me I would be more than happy to investigate this matter further.

I am Sharron Wood, HR Manager and have a responsibility for investigating complaints.
