I have given Calderdale hospital mainly 5stars because I have been a patient there several times and I have found the staff very attentive and caring it is a good hospital except this last time I went which was for an X-ray on Saturday morning . I am slightly hard of hearing and normally wear hearing aids but not in an
X-ray dept as I am told the machines may damage my aids . I went into the changing room to put my gown on for the procedure of an X-ray the door
I closed for obvious reasons but instead of knocking on the changing room door and informing me they were ready for me for my hip X-ray the person doing the X-ray just shouted out into the corridor ? Well I could not hear them because of my hearing disability especially with the door closed so they repeatedly to my embarrassment carried on shouting my name out my husband told me this as he had to come round and let me know they were ready for me , it’s not nice to have to explain you are partly deaf in public so I would like to suggest if I may that staff knock on the changing room door and open it slightly to tell the patient you are ready for them , I know they do this in the MRI X-ray dept of Calderdale hospital so why not the other X-ray dept
Thankyou .
