About: The James Cook University Hospital

In June 2016 I attended James Cook Hospital for a routine Total Knee replacement the day after the operation I was told I was well enough to go home, a week after the operation I was immense pain after not sleeping for 2 nights my wife drove me back to the hospital where a ultra sound scan showed I has a large aneurysm in my leg where the replacement had been carried out,I was informed I needed an emergency operation to correct this medical problem

5 hours later I had a 6 hour popliteal bypass operation this led to a further 6 days in Hospital, this operation was required due to a majour artery been cut due my knee operation been botched, something the surgeon didn't admit too,on leaving hospital I requested for physiotherapy on my knee,I got no reply from the hospital,I tried several more times but still nothing it was 8 weeks after my operations that I was eventually offered physio by which time I was doing it myself,my advice anyone going to hospital to have knee replacement if your in hospital for more than 2 days after your operation insist on a ultra sound scan before going home to make sure all is well and you dont suffer like I did, it's now 18 months after the operations and my leg is still painful,I was informed it maybe another 12 months before things are back to normal.
