My husband was admitted to A and E and diagnosed with a chest infection. He was transferred to the Acute Medical ward where the infection caused him to become delusional. His delusions caused him to become rude, aggressive and violent - completely out of character.
The response from staff was excellent- they treated him with care, kindness, understanding and compassion throughout. Not only did they care for him, they cared for me too.
I have nothing but praise for the care from all the nursing staff and doctors.
The same standard of care was there in A&E and continued when he was transferred to another ward.
I had heard so much negativity about Pilgrim Hospital. In this care, it was completely unfounded.
"Excellent"
