First visited this hospital on November 14th with my mum and she was diagnosed as having a small stroke. When my mum was told she needed to go to hospital she was upset as she had previously been to James Cook for a number of weeks and had an awful experience. On entering the Friarage it was a totally different experience. The staff in Ambulatory were lovely, friendly, helpful, polite, understanding and caring. Again on follow up appointments under the care of her Consultant my mum has received excellent care and treatment with everyone in these Departments including Cardiology. No waiting around for long periods of time, everyone shows care and compassion. Larger hospitals and the people in charge of hospitals could learn so much from the Friarage, it's an excellent facility I wish there were more smaller hospitals like this one for people to benefit from. Over the past 3 years we've been to hospitals quite a lot. As a family seeing how our mum has been looked after we only have praise for the Friarage and Brotton Hospitals. If we could choose every time we would choose these over James Cook. Thank you to the Friarage for their ongoing care.
