"Excellent"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I was first referred for bariatric surgery in June/July 2016 and from then to actually having my surgery the whole process took approximately 15 months and I can honestly say the staff were fantastic, there was nothing that wasn’t explained to me and if I had any concerns they were only a phone call away. The day I was admitted I was extremely nervous but the staff were great putting my mind at ease as I am not a person that deals with pain very easily, however I had my surgery on October 12th 2017 and I haven’t looked back losing one and a half stone in just over 6wks and I have also reversed my diabetes due to the weight loss before and after surgery, I now no longer take any medication or injections due to this. For anyone considering bariatric surgery it is not a quick fix, you have to be prepared to work at it for the rest of your life, it is a major life changer but it does have its rewards. Lastly I would like to give a huge thankyou to all the staff involved in my before and aftercare, you are all amazing people and I couldn’t have got through this without you.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. The team will be genuinely delighted. You do have to make significant changes following the surgery and it sounds like you are doing brilliantly and already seeing really positive results!
